Privacy Policy

QueryCanvas helps teams connect data sources, generate reports, and build dashboards. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and the choices available to customers and end users.

What we collect

We collect information needed to operate QueryCanvas, including:

• Account details such as name, email address, profile image, and workspace membership.
• Workspace content such as connections, reports, dashboards, saved queries, schedules, and audit events.
• Connection metadata such as connection type, source configuration, schema snapshots, health logs, and usage activity.
• Support, billing, and operational information such as subscription state, system logs, and messages you send us.

Connected data sources

When you connect a database, API, file source, or Google Sheets account, QueryCanvas stores the information required to access that source on your behalf. Depending on the connector, this may include connection credentials, OAuth tokens, selected spreadsheet identifiers, selected sheet names, uploaded file references, and connector-specific configuration.

QueryCanvas also stores schema snapshots and source metadata to improve query building, onboarding, suggestions, and dashboard/widget performance.

How we use information

We use collected information to:

• Authenticate users and manage workspaces.
• Connect to approved data sources and execute queries requested by users.
• Generate reports, dashboards, widgets, exports, and AI-assisted query suggestions.
• Maintain schema snapshots, health checks, audit trails, and security monitoring.
• Provide support, billing, plan management, and product improvements.

How we protect data

We design QueryCanvas to reduce unnecessary exposure of sensitive information. In our application, connection credentials and connector configuration values such as OAuth tokens are stored in encrypted form in the backend before they are persisted.

We also use access controls, workspace scoping, audit logging, and schema caching to limit operational access and to support secure product behavior. Publicly shared reports and dashboards are only available when a workspace user explicitly enables public sharing.

Google user data

If you connect Google Sheets, QueryCanvas uses the Google authorization you grant to read spreadsheet metadata and selected sheet content so the connected workspace can analyze it. We use this access only to provide the functionality requested by the user, such as reading spreadsheet data, generating reports, caching schema details, and rendering dashboards or widgets connected to that sheet.

We do not ask for broader Google account access than is needed for the connected feature. If Google account access is removed or the connection is deleted, future access to the sheet will stop once the stored credentials are no longer valid or are removed.

Data sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate QueryCanvas, such as cloud infrastructure, authentication, email, storage, and payment providers, but only as needed to operate the service. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect QueryCanvas, our users, or others.

Retention and deletion

We retain account and workspace information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Workspace administrators can delete connections, reports, and dashboards from within the product. Some backups, logs, and billing records may be retained for a limited period after deletion for operational or compliance purposes.

Your choices

• You can update workspace content and connection settings inside the application.
• You can remove shared links, revoke access to data sources, or delete connections you no longer want QueryCanvas to use.
• You can contact us to request account or privacy assistance.

Children’s privacy

QueryCanvas is intended for business and professional use and is not directed to children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date on this page and may provide additional notice when required.
